September is National Preparedness Month and I'm determined to get a few things prepared for the unexpected, whatever it might be.
One of the challenges of preparing for an emergency is that we have to get used to the fact that nothing we can do will perfectly prepare us or be just what we need. However, doing something or anything you can ahead of time sure will help and definitely can't hurt no matter what it is. It just requires us to think about what matters most and how we might be able to make things better when our world gets turned a little or a lot upside down.
Here are some areas that I think people should think about when preparing for the unexpected emergency or unthinkable disaster.
*Car & Home Emergency Supply Kits
*Back Ups of Digital Information we store in our: computer, cameras, or cell phone
*Fire Safe with Copies of any other Important Information & Identification
*Updated Contact List & Phone Numbers
*Updated Home Inventory, Will, & Insurance
We can't possibly do all this at once, but picking one to start with is a step in the right direction.
